How to get an alert when the processor and RAM consumption are high
Peace, mercy and blessings of God
The processor and RAM consumption should not always be high when using a computer, regardless of its capabilities. When running light document editing or web browsing programs, the consumption rate will be lower than the average, while heavier programs such as animation or montage programs consume the device's resources heavily, but the rate will often not reach 100% - this only happens when there is a virus or program Malware exploits resources for mining or damaging the computer, or possibly as a result of a malfunction in the installed program that causes it to perform frequent background operations. So let us review the way to get an alert if the consumption of the processor and RAM exceeds a certain rate, and thus you can save your computer and avoid damage to its most important components.

All we need in this task is a small program called "CPU Alert" and despite its name, it allows monitoring the processor and also the rams and then alert you as soon as the consumption rate reaches a certain limit. The program is completely free and works on all versions of Windows. It also supports running on Linux distributions. Thanks to the simple user interface, it should not be noted that it is difficult to use it. Here are the next lines of how to properly adjust its settings.

After installing and installing the CPU Alert software on your device, click the File section of the toolbar, then choose from the Setup drop-down menu. In the Settings window that appears, you'll find that the program will alert you when the processor and RAM consumption exceeds 85%. However, you can change this value via the field in front of "CPU warning threshold" then enter the warning limit for processor consumption, while the RAM warning limit can be set independently through the field in front of "Memory warning threshold".

By default, if CPU Alert detects that the specified consumption threshold has been exceeded when it checks the processor and RAM consumption ten times in a row, it will automatically sound beep. But you can increase or decrease the number of times by changing the value in front of "... of consecutive usage exceed threshold to". And by the way, too, the program checks the processor and RAM consumption every 5 seconds, but you can change that through the "Time interval for monitoring" field.

Finally, the option "... Play warning sound every time the" must be enabled so that the program issues an alert whenever the specified consumption limit is exceeded, knowing that the alert sound can also be changed to any other sound of your choice. After completion, click on the Save button and then click on the "Minimize" button to minimize the window and allow the program to run in the background.

Now, when the consumption of the processor or RAM exceeds the specified threshold, you will hear the siren sound, and if you open CPU Alert, it will show you which program specifically caused the exceeding the allowed limit. As can be seen from the above image, the chrome.exe process of the Chrome browser has exceeded the rate of 85% of the RAM consumption up to 3 times in a row.

CPU Alert works in the background to monitor the processor and RAM consumption periodically and continuously, but you can stop it at any time through the main interface by pressing the green “Stop” button, or through its mini icon on the taskbar. You will also notice that the program does not display a text notification on the desktop, it only depends on the sound alerts, and as mentioned above, you can change the default sound with any audio file of your choice provided it is in WAV format.
