Peace, mercy and blessings of God
Whether you are taking a screenshot by clicking on the PrntScrn key or copying an image from a web page into the browser, an Office document or an email, it is certain that if you want to save this image to your computer, you will need to complete other steps. If you click on the PrntScrn key, you must then open the Paint tool, paste the screenshot, and then click the Save button to specify where the image is stored. Fortunately, it turns out that there is a faster way to save any photo you copy automatically, so let's review it on this topic.
The method we mean here depends on a very small free program called "ClipSnappy" which plays its role as a clipboard monitor for Windows (which hosts any text or images that are copied) and then downloads the images automatically on the device. The program does not have a user interface, but rather works through a command prompt window to display a record of the images it has saved.
It is worth noting that the program does not actually save the images stored on the device, meaning if you select an image on the computer and press Ctrl + C to copy it, ClipSnappy will not save this image. However, if you right-click an image in the browser and select the Copy option from the popup menu, the image is saved as a file through this program, the same thing happens when you take a screenshot by clicking on the PrntScrn key given that the screenshot will be recorded in the clipboard.
All you have to do is start downloading ClipSnappy through this link, knowing that its size does not exceed 1MB, so it will not take up space on the hard disk. The program is also portable, you do not need to install it on the system; just unzip it to extract the EXE file which you must double click to run the program. As we indicated, there is no user interface like other programs, but rather you will get a CMD window.
Now you can press the Minimize button to let ClipSnappy run in the background and go ahead and start copying images to the clipboard or click the PerSc button to take a screenshot. For example, if a webpage contains a set of images and backgrounds you want to save to your computer, it is sufficient to right-click on each image and then choose from the menu the option Copy image for the program to download the image.
Note that the program saves images in the same folder as the boot file (clipsnappy.exe). Because this program is portable, you can move and run the file from the folder where you want to save the images. But always make sure that the CMD window remains open so that the program can monitor the clipboard in real time. When you have finished saving the required images or want to stop the program, you can either close the CMD window or click the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + C with the command prompt window active.
Finally, ClipSnappy saves images as PNG even if you are copying in JPEG, JPG, GIF or any other image format. The program will also not resize the image, but it will all be saved as PNG files at the end, as it gives them a custom name that matches the date and time of their copy. Generally speaking, PNG format preserves the quality of the images, but if you copy the GIF image, the animation animation will be lost. So it is best in this case, use the "Save As" option to save the image as GIF.
